Privacy Policy
The short version: ThirstyPOS keeps the sales records a drink shop needs to run. We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We only use your information to run the app for you.
Who we are
ThirstyPOS is a point-of-sale app for drink shops in the Philippines. This policy covers the ThirstyPOS Android app, the owner portal at portal.thirstypos.com, the web app at app.thirstypos.com, and this website.
The shop that uses ThirstyPOS (the “business”) decides what goes into it. For the sales and staff records a business keeps in ThirstyPOS, we process that information for the business, on its instructions.
What we collect
- Owner accounts: the email address and password used to sign in to the owner portal.
- Business details: the business name, branch names and addresses, phone number, email, tax ID (if entered) and logo.
- Staff: each worker’s name, role, branch and 4-number PIN, so they can sign in at the counter.
- Orders: the drinks sold, prices, how the customer paid, the time, which worker made the sale, and any canceled orders with the reason given.
- Customer names: if a cashier types a customer’s first name, it is printed on the cup sticker and saved with the order.
- Senior citizen discounts: when a senior discount is given, the senior’s name and OSCA ID number are saved with the order, because Philippine law requires the business to keep this record.
- Device details: the name given to each POS device, the app version, and when it last connected.
- Website form: if you sign up on this website, we collect your name, business name and mobile number so we can contact you.
Permissions the Android app asks for
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to connect to the Bluetooth sticker printer.
- Location (Android 11 and older only): older Android versions require this to find Bluetooth printers. ThirstyPOS does not read, save or send your location.
- Microphone: only when you tap the microphone to say an order. Your phone’s speech service (for example, Google) turns the speech into text. ThirstyPOS uses the text to fill in the order. We do not record or save the audio.
- Internet: to send sales to the owner portal and get menu updates.
How we use it
- To run the app: take orders, print stickers, and show sales in the owner portal.
- To keep records safe: track who made each sale or canceled an order.
- To help you: answer questions, set up your menu, and fix problems.
- To tell you about app updates.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for ads.
Who we share it with
- Our cloud provider: data is stored with Supabase, which hosts our database and sign-in system.
- Our web host: this website and the owner portal run on Vercel.
- The law: we will share information if the law requires it.
These providers may only use the data to provide their service to us.
How we protect it
- Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Each business can only see its own data.
- Owners choose what each team member in the portal can see.
- POS devices connect with a one-time code and can be turned off from the portal at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep a business’s data while it uses ThirstyPOS. If a business asks us to delete its account, we delete its data within 30 days, unless the law says we must keep something longer. Sales records saved on a phone stay on that phone until the app is removed or its data is cleared.
Your choices and rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, you can ask to see, fix or delete your personal information. Staff and customers can ask the business they deal with, or contact us directly. To delete a whole account, see Delete your account.
Children
ThirstyPOS is a tool for businesses. It is not made for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell owners in the portal or by email.
